Does Rocky Mountain College offer private swimming lessons?
Rocky Mountain College does not offer private swimming lessons. We do however offer a high quality group swimming lesson program for infants to adults. Please see our full lesson offerenings and descriptions above.
If my child or self is unable to make a lesson will I receive a refund or make-up lesson?
Due to limited space/time no refunds or make-up lessons will be available for missed lessons after the start of each session.
How old does my child have to be to enroll in swimming lessons?
Children must be 4 years of age to start swimming lessons (Level 1 starts at age four). We also offer Parent & Child Aquatics for parents and children whose ages range from 6 months through 3 years.
I want to take swimming lessons as an adult. Will I be in the pool with children?
The adult swimming lesson classes are for adults only at a separate time than our youth swimming lessons.
Can my child wear goggles to swimming lessons?
Yes swimmers are allowed to wear goggles. Please ensure the goggles are adjusted for your swimmer's size needs.
What level should I sign my child up for?
Children should be enrolled in the most recent level they completed. Children will be tested on the 1st day of lessons to ensure they are in the correct level. It is much easier and feels much better to the children to be moved up after their test then to be moved down a level. For a description of each swim lesson please see our Swimming and Water Safety page.
Can I register and pay in person?
To help ensure our swim staff to properly prepare for your swimmer being part of our program please register in advance online using this swimming lesson page. Due to parent feedback we have switched our registration process to be fully online including electronic payment. We are no longer accepting cash or check payments for lessons.
What does my swimmer need to bring?
Please have registered participant(s) in appropriate swim attire upon arrival, and bring towel and goggles.
Can I stay and watch my swimmer?
Yes, family members are welcome to stay and watch their swimmer, however viewing must be done from the 2nd level observation deck. No spectators are allowed in the pool area.
Where do I park?
Please park in RMC parking lots off of Rimrock Road and walk to the south entrance of the Fortin Fitness Center to access the pool. Please avoid using the central campus parking lots as those are reserved for students and require a permit. Please DO NOT use the emergency driveway circle on the south side of the building for pick-up or drop-off, as that causes congestion for our emergency responders. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated. Please see the RMC Parking Map online at https://rocky.edu/campus-life/campus-safety/parking-policy/
Can someone other than a parent pick up my swimmer?
Yes, swimmers can be picked up by any responsible person approved by the parent. Please be sure your swimmer and swim staff know who will be picking them up from lessons each day.
Are there discounts for multiple kids/lesson registrations?
Each lesson is priced per participant. We don't offer multi-lesson or multi-child discounts at this time.
Do you offer scholarships for swimming lessons?
We don't offer scholarships at this time.
